Policy Advocacy

At EDSRAAMP, we recognize the importance of advocating for policies and interventions that promote inclusive rural development and agricultural transformation in Edo State. Through policy advocacy, we aim to influence decision-makers, stakeholders, and the public to enact positive change that addresses the unique challenges faced by rural communities and farmers.

Access to Markets: Advocating for policies that improve market access and linkages for rural farmers, including the development of market infrastructure and the establishment of market information systems.
– Rural Infrastructure: Calling for investments in rural road infrastructure, bridges, and transportation networks to enhance accessibility and connectivity for rural communities.
– Agricultural Value Chains: Promoting policies that strengthen agricultural value chains, support agribusiness development, and increase competitiveness in local and regional markets.
– Sustainable Agriculture: Advocating for policies that promote sustainable agricultural practices, mitigate environmental degradation, and build resilience to climate change in rural areas.

– Research and Analysis: Conducting research and analysis to identify key policy issues, trends, and opportunities in rural development and agriculture.
– Engagement and Collaboration: Engaging with government agencies, legislators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for policy reforms and interventions that align with our mission and objectives.
– Public Awareness and Education: Raising public awareness about the importance of rural development and agricultural sustainability through advocacy campaigns, workshops, and media outreach.
– Coalition Building: Building coalitions and alliances with like-minded organizations, advocacy groups, and civil society actors to amplify our advocacy efforts and increase our collective impact.

– Highlighting successful advocacy initiatives and policy reforms that have positively impacted rural communities and farmers in Edo State.
– Showcasing examples of collaboration with government agencies, legislators, and other stakeholders to advocate for policy changes and investments in rural development and agriculture.

– Encouraging individuals, organizations, and communities to join our advocacy efforts by signing petitions, participating in advocacy campaigns, and engaging with policymakers.
– Providing resources and tools for grassroots advocacy, including fact sheets, policy briefs, and advocacy toolkits, to empower individuals and communities to advocate for change.
