The Edo State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing rural access and agricultural marketing in Edo State, Nigeria. By addressing infrastructural challenges and promoting market linkages, we strive to empower rural communities and farmers, fostering inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.
As the implementing agency, our responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing projects aimed at achieving our objectives. This involves engaging with government agencies, development partners, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of our programs.
Our mandate is derived from the commitment of the Government of Edo State to prioritize rural development and agricultural transformation. Through EDSRAAMP, we are tasked with implementing strategic interventions to address the unique challenges faced by rural communities and farmers in the state.
Constructing and rehabilitating rural roads, bridges, and market facilities to improve accessibility and connectivity.
Facilitating access to markets through the establishment of market information systems, agro-processing centers, and value-addition initiatives.
Providing training and technical assistance to farmers, cooperatives, and other stakeholders to enhance their skills and knowledge in agriculture and rural development.
Advocating for policies and interventions that promote inclusive rural development and agricultural transformation.
Coordinating the implementation of the project in the state while under the oversight of all stakeholders in the partnership agreement (EDSG, RAAMP National office, and EIB)
Needs assessment and planning for rural roads and marketing infrastructure interventions.
Implementation of systematically selected and prioritized sub-projects across designated rural communities in the state. (Construction and maintenance works as well as community sensitization).
